1940's & 1950's Vintage Bus Essex Tour and Ploughman's Lunch

A beautifully nostalgic day with little walking but lots to see (and eat!)

We head east to the Lodge Garage at High Easter near Chelmsford.

A Ploughman’s Lunch is ready for us in the garage museum surrounded by the vintage vehicle collection and old

coaching ephemera collection of the Lodge Family who celebrated their centenary in 2020.

After lunch there is a talk & slide show/short video detailing the history of the company and showing some of the TV/film work

that the vehicles have been in, Following this your group would go for a ride around the local lanes in two of there immaculately

restored 1940s and 1950s coaches that have starred in Only Fools spin off Rock & Chips and blockbuster series The Crown.

It’s a lovely afternoon

We finish the day with tea or coffee and cake back in the middle of the vintage collection. You’ll be ready to head home at 4pm.

We never cancel a trip so please look out for anything from a minibus to a full sized coach.

It's a few minutes walk into the museum.

Seating

Seats are automatically allocated at the time of booking, however we can possibly change the seat

if you give us a call, all seats come at a first come, first served basis. We will try our best to

accomodate your request.
